Dual-Band Shared Aperture Reflectarray and Patch Antenna Array for S- and Ka-Bands

In this communication, a dual-band shared aperture antenna is presented. The proposed achieves operation by housing both low-frequency patch array and high-frequency reflectarray in the same area. two different types are combined into single-antenna product without any significant performance loss. has layered structure that allows to have sufficient impedance bandwidth realized gain. since unit elements within area of array. This achieve good gain band. fabricated measured. prototype designed for S- Ka-bands resulting frequency ratio 7.37. size 156 mm $\times156$ notation="LaTeX">$\times4.624$ ( notation="LaTeX">$1.82\lambda \times 1.82\lambda 0.05\lambda $ at S-band notation="LaTeX">$13.4\lambda 13.4\lambda 0.40\lambda Ka-band). Measurements show be 200 MHz (6%) 5.1 GHz (20%) peak 13.70 27.65 dBi 3.5 25.8 GHz, respectively. A very agreement between simulated measured results observed.
